Web sites that contain explicit or adult content are all over the internet. There is a market for such information and not all of the sites that have adult content are degrading or repulsive. All of the sites that have adult content have one problem though they are not eligible to use many of the promotion companies that help web sites get better traffic and better sales. Most of these companies steer clear of adult content because they fear getting caught up in something illegal. Sites that have a mature theme have to use an adult promotion service to get better traffic and better sales.
The people who operate adult promotion service to handle these clients are not unscrupulous they simply see that there is a need for the tasteful promotion of the sites that are intended for more mature individuals. These sites have to be careful where they place their advertising and what audience it appears that they are trying to attract. Most web sites and pages can place advertisements and back links on all of the social media sites to help improve their traffic. The sites that are for mature eyes only cannot place advertisements on these media sites. There are people on the media sites that are not old enough to view the adult only material and the media sites would be shunned by parents and other people if it appeared they were allowing the young users to be targeted by sexually explicit sites and web pages.
Some promotion services use email as a way to reach out and interest people in coming to view the web pages they are advertising. There are so many viruses said to be associated with the adult only sites that the majority of people will not open an email that appears to come from one of these sites and will more than likely either report the email as spam or block the person from ever sending them another email.
The only real way that the adult promotion service can assist the mature content sites in increasing their traffic and their sales is to place back links and advertisements on other mature content sites. The web sites that are connected by a link have to have content that they share or at least have content that is in some way associated with the content on the other site. So they are pretty much forced to have back links only from adult content sites or from sites that sell adult toys and gadgets, or that have adult discussion forums.
Whenever you are on a site that has a discussion or forum you will be encouraged to participate in the discussion. At this time it is possible to add a back link to your own pages for others who are reading the forum to follow. You do not get much PR value from this type of posting but you will get interest from the other viewers because they are already interested in the topic that your pages contain.
An adult promotion service can help the web sites that have content that is suitable only for people over 21 to see to be able to build back links and increase their traffic.
When you have a sex toy that you have been enjoying, it is so disappointing when you are in the mood to use it, and guess what, it no longer turns on! Or, have you had the experience of purchasing a sex toy, wait about a week or so for it to arrive, and it is defective? There are also situations when vibrators that do work just won’t turn off! You have to actually remove the batteries for it to shut down! Then, there are the products that are too weak, too loud, or just plain uncomfortable. In this article, I am going to address some of the complaints that sex toy consumers have mentioned. Do not be discouraged if you did not have a good sex toy experience. With numerous adult toys available, the chances of disappointment and/or frustration is quite possible. However, here are some tips that can help you during your purchase which may lessen your disappointment and turn you into a sex toy believer!
Complaint #1 – This vibrator is not powerful enough!
Tip: Before you purchase a vibrator, read through customer reviews to see what they say about it. Most reputable web sites will post both the negative and positive reviews for the product. In addition, find a web site that has the power levels measured for each of the vibrators. If you do not have a material preference, try out the vibrators that are made of hard ABS plastic. The vibrations are more intense on these types of vibrators because the vibrations are not being absorbed into a softer material. For example, the Hot and Smooth vibrator is a mult-speed powerful vibrator and is made of hard plastic.
Complaint #2 – The vibrator arrived defective from the retailer.
Tip: Before you get upset, make sure your batteries are inserted properly into the battery pack. This may seem like common sense, but some of the vibrator’s housing are not always clear on what end the positive side should be and vise versa. If applicable, screw the base on tight if the batteries are inserted into the base. If the product will still not turn on, then the vibrator is defective.
Make sure you read the company’s return policy before making a purchase. Many times I have seen complaints about customers who wanted full refunds for defective products when the company’s policy was to give store credits. It is very important to be knowledgeable about the return policy in case the product arrives defective or if you are not happy with the product. Most companies will send a replacement of a defective product at no charge. However, be aware of the time frame in which products can be returned or defective products can be replaced.
Complaint #3 – This sex toy is way too large for me.
Tip: A product can look smaller in the picture than in real life, which can be a disadvantage to purchasing online. It is important to read the measurements for the product. Most web sites will have the length and width of the product. In addition, there are web sites that offer a measuring chart to have a more accurate account of how big the product is.
Complaint #4 – This vibrator will not stop buzzing!
Tip: Some of the smaller products like some of the bullets may have a tendency to not turn off. Users have stated that they had to remove the battery completely in order for the product to turn off. Most of the time, these types of vibrators are operated by watch size batteries. Purchase a vibrator that is operated by at least triple A sized batteries. Plus, I also find that the products that are operated with at least triple A sized batteries tend to last longer, and are more powerful.
Complaint #5 – My sex toy is giving me an allergic reaction or irritating to my skin.
Tip: Stop using this product immediately. If you are having an allergic reaction, you may be allergic to latex. Use a product that is made of glass, metal, hard plastic, or silicone. Those types of sex toy materials are perfect for users who are allergic to latex. If you are using a condom with your sex toy, make sure that the condom is latex free such as Durex Avanti Bare of LifeStyles Skyn.
I am a self proclaimed expert on sexuality topics.
It can be tough to start a new business. Decisions, decisions. One such decision is, do you structure your new business on your own, or do you reach out and research companies that supply all the marketing material and products for you. In the Adult Toy Party business (home party category), there are about a dozen companies you can choose from to be your base of operations. After 4 months of extensive research, about a half a dozen come up worthy of being placed on the consideration list. Only 1 of those companies comes out on top.
This article will not extend itself to naming names. It’s purpose is not to be malicious or to bad mouth other companies, that’s just poor business in itself. If you are with a company that practices what I call “Run from It” tactics, you already know that. If you are searching for an adult toy party business company to join – this article should give you a few questions to ask. Their answers will let you know they were in the running.
One of the first things you can do before even making the call is to go to Google and type in [Company Name] Complaints. One of the adult toy party companies that comes up on practically all the search pages for “Adult Toy Parties” (because they have been in business a long time, and spend a lot of money in marketing), came up with 205,000 results from this complaints search. With that – I really don’t have to go any further in my investigation. Not A Chance!
Even with extensive research, you can end up choosing the wrong company for you. We did, but realized the mistake quickly (within a month), got out, and started over. The GOOD that came out of our wrong choice was more questions to ask to determine the right choice.
You Know It’s A Bad Choice When (“Run From It!”)…
Monthly Sales Quotas
This is one in a series of requirements that lets me know that the company is self-serving. They are in it to make money for themselves and they could give a rats a$$ about whether or not you succeed. How many of us are in this to convert to full time? Sure, it’s always a dream, but in reality we are all just trying to supplement our income, or our spouse’s income. This month the kids may have soccer tournaments every weekend, next month we may be free to do parties all month – that’s what a home business is supposed to afford you – flexibility to make how much, or how little is within your schedule and desire. Don’t rope me into what YOU think I should be doing.
No, You Can NOT Construct Your Own Website.
Self-serving. The bulk of representative websites (the website they give you to market for your business) have corporate information all over it, giving your potential customers multiple avenues to contact the company directly. And, as a professional and multiple award winning web designer I think I have the authority to comment, the bulk of representative website are just plain bad – gaudy – error glittered, and un-optimized. Now, most of the individuals looking into the Adult Toy Party Home Business are NOT web designers – granted, but give them the option. Even a basic hosted Word Press template can become FAR more optimized than the representative sites.
Your company website and marketing material are splattered with corporate information.
Self-serving, self-serving, self-serving. Seriously, why would I want to hand out a bunch of catalogs that I paid for that have, on each page, the corporate toll free number and corporate website address? Why do I want to direct people to my website if the contact form goes to some corporate department where I then have to wait for them to sift through and get to it and forward it to me, I hope. I’ve heard the explanation that they are protecting themselves. They are making sure that if you decide to get out of the business, the material that you put out there still has a working contact tool. I say bull. My customers aren’t stupid and if they want to contact corporate they can certainly figure out how to do that without it being splattered all over MY BUSINESS marketing material.
Oh no, THAT product is only 30% profit
This was one of the straws that broke the back with the 1st company we chose. We bought in during a special which gave us 60% profit for 90 days. I guess we should have known that 60% was just too good to be true (your industry standard is 40%), but it was a special, and only for 90 days so we figured – nice little promotion. And from the outside, everything else looked good. Well, once in and placing orders we get the story that (about 70% of what we needed to order) some of the products were only 30% profit. That’s just deceitful, and with deceit that blatant, we were not going to take a chance on giving them any more of our efforts.
You can only market our parties to ladies
Why do so many of these companies feel that it is wrong (or even against the law) to promote romance among couples? (I checked. It’s not illegal). In Why Americans Divorce I read that “22 percent of men cited sex as the reason for the divorce”. In Sex Is Biggest Cause of Divorce I learned that a UK law firm reports “sex was a factor in 43 per cent of divorce cases”. Think about it. Wouldn’t it be cool if we, as romance consultants could be a savior in as little as .01% of that? If you saved ONE marriage, would that not be cool? And how about us as consultants? Don’t you think it might bring a couple or two closer together to run a romance business together?
You only make commission of 1 (or 2) levels of your team, and only if YOU maintain a certain monthly income.
OK, I get the rule of having to maintain a certain monthly income in order to reap the benefits of your team, although it would be nice (and potentially lucrative to the parent company) to have a business or 10 who simply excel in helping their team succeed. Business coaching is a pretty big field, you know? But regardless, I get that part – but, why should I be limited to just 1 or 2 levels of my team? I want to hear at least 4 or 5, and the company we settled in with does it Unlimited. Now THAT’S what I’M talking about!
Your hostess rewards program comes out of YOUR pocket – and worse still, the company marketing material designates what the hostess rewards program is.
So you (the parent company) are going to tell me what I have to give to a hostess for having a party for me, but I have to pay for it? Not cool. If I have to pay for it, then I should be able to decide what those incentives are. And in a perfect world YOU (the parent company) should be paying for it. You are, after all, reaping the bulk of the rewards.
You can only sell our products. No one else’s. Even if it is not in direct competition.
Just not cool. Why should I not be able to supplement my business further by offering a line of jewelry, or kitchen items, or plastics for that matter. Why Not? And really, if you don’t sell the liberator wedge, and I can get it wholesale, and it’s a seller, why should I be NOT allowed to sell it? If you don’t want us to sell what sells from someone else, than offer it yourself – otherwise, let us stock our business!
Those are a few of the items you should look out for that should cause you to continue your search, should the company you are looking at practice these tactics.
Some items that you do want your company to offer are:
Countless ways to earn. Look for at least 40% across the board on the main product line
Internet sales. Take a CLOSE look at the representative site that is offered. Take a look at it in ALL browsers. Take yourself all the way through a purchase (all the way to the point where you click accept to make the buy – stop there if you don’t want the item). Remember, the look and feel, the errors, the problems, all of this is going to reflect on YOUR business.
Customer promotions. There should be some incentives (that do NOT come out of your pocket) to help your customers want to buy.
Team building commission. You should be incentivized, and compensated for building and training your team.
Residual income. How is going the company going to help keep the income coming.
Bonuses. Look for car bonuses, house bonuses, travel bonuses, etc.
COMPANY PAID hostess rewards program. You should not be out of pocket in rewarding your hostess to through you a party.
It’s difficult enough to run your own business without being held down by restrictions, bad press, and uncooperative or no support. Check out your possible parent company thoroughly, and remember – if they aren’t living up to your standards or not producing what you believe you deserve, jump ship – there are other companies that will.
We love going to Toys R Us and of the toy stores, because the displays are just amazingly vibrant – all the counters and walls are draped with these bright, blazing primary colors with packages designed to capture the eye and hold your attention.
For us, it’s also fun going to couples’ stores where adult toys are sold, because the displays are strikingly the same, awash in primary colors with a few more bright pinks, reds and purples – though the imagery is typically far from family friendly.
We’re enthused that adult toys have become more mainstream, but we also know there are a lot of people out there who are reluctant to consider the use of what used to be called “marital aids” in their bedroom repertoire. Many couples won’t even set foot in an adult video or toy store for fear of what the neighbors might say, or just a feeling that those toys are only used by swingers or people obsessed with sex.
Well, having been sexologists for nearly a decade, we have a little news for you – your neighbors have probably already been there.
Toys can be a healthy and welcome addition to a couple’s bedroom practices, but we do understand the reasons why many people haven’t yet ventured behind the curtain to see what’s out there for them. So, we’ve assembled a few of the reasons we’ve heard over the years, with a slightly more enlightened view to counter them.
Only Dirty People Use Them – There is a sense, you could even call it a mild prudishness that some couples have regarding sex toys. We attribute that to the compressed conflict that is sexuality in America. We use sex to sell cars, beer, Web site domains (thanks for the cheesecake, GoDaddy!) and even corn chips, but we are reluctant to address our own sexuality with the same openness. Sex isn’t dirty, unless, of course, thinking of it as dirty is a turn-on for you. The truth is, sex is healthy, fun and downright necessary for a strong, long-term romantic relationship. Being ashamed of enjoying sex is like being ashamed of eating to us. It’s a normal, healthy human activity when performed by consenting adults. So, if sex isn’t dirty, neither are toys used to enhance the sexual experience. If you’ve never gone to an adult toy store, the initial imagery may be a little shocking, but if you go in with an open mind, you might actually find yourself having fun before you know it.
Toys Are Only for Masturbation – Over the years, as the sexual revolution took hold, women became empowered and chose to indulge their desires with or without a partner and stop being ashamed of their own sexuality. The sale and use of vibrators and other toys skyrocketed, and these toys became associated primarily with masturbation. But that is not their only function. In point of fact, many toys are far more effective and fun when they are wielded by a partner. Now, you don’t really need to be a sexologist to figure that out. A little basic geometry is all you need. When you compare the range of angles a woman can reach using her own arm to the range of motion by a partner who is correctly positioned, it’s clear that a partner can do a lot more with those toys to help a woman receive the full benefit of whatever implements she may have in the toy bag. In fact, many toys on the market today are specifically designed to be used by a partner and are practically useless for masturbation. So, wipe away that old connotation of toys. Some games are most definitely more fun when played by two.
Toys Will Replace Me as a Partner – As a tandem of the above concern, some partners are concerned that some toys may deliver sensations and experiences that just cannot be matched by simple human to human interaction, and they fear that the toys will replace them in bed. Granted, there are some toys that are very ingenuitive these days, from swivel-headed vibrators to the Sybian (think of a sit-down vibrator run by an outboard motor), and we completely understand how they can be a little intimidating. There has been many a partner who has had to peel a woman off the ceiling after experiencing some of the more innovative devices on the market. But a toy cannot replace the sexual dynamic that two people can achieve together. The largest and most important sexual organ in the human body is the brain, and no matter the horsepower of the toy involved, they have yet to market anything with the imagination and creativity of the human mind. By joining your partner in the enjoyment of toys, you will be an inextricable part of their sexual lives and your role will be secure as long as you share your hearts and your imaginations together.
So don’t be afraid. Minds work best when they are open. And so do toys, once they are out of the box and in your bedroom.
